  • Aqua Globes

I have A LOT of these Globes. They do need refilling quite often, some daily, depending on the size of the plant. Two globes per plant are recommended for larger plants. The Aqua Globes didn't included detailed instructions, but, I was able to find some. I also had trouble with some of the tubes clogging with soil. HERE'S THE TRICK! 1. Fill the bulb to 95% full (not up into the tube) to allow for air flow. 2. Make a hole in the soil with small stick or garden tool. (I use the round handle of a wooden spoon) Make sure the diameter of the hole is smaller than the diameter of the globe's shaft (to help secure the globe and keep it from falling out or getting damaged.) 3. Insert the shaft of the globe into the hole and push firmly to secure. NOTE: Do not insert globe into soil w/o first making a hole, as shaft may break. (and...it clogs!) This is not in the instructions, but at this point I will lift the globe back up an inch or so and make sure I see an air bubble rise. If I see an air bubble I know it's not clogged. I, like the previous poster, would not water my plants as often as they needed and would then overwater, and my plants would not ever really look that great. I wasn't going to do much this year b/c I didn't want to waste more $$, and have yet another reason to feel like a failure (lol). I've been using these for a few weeks and I can see a huge difference in my plants. I even went out and bought more plants!! I will admit this can be a lot of work if you have a lot of plants, but for someone like me, they work great. I have plants now that I wouldn't have otherwise. Give them another shot if they didn't work before. Hope they work for you!

  • Kind of fun - at first

I got tired of using a q-tip to pull the dirt out of the stem to refill. My plants are on the smaller side — so they didn't seem to get watered properly. Water pooled on the bottom of pots.

  • Work Great

I needed to leave ferns for a week that needed to be watered every other day. The globes worked beautifully. Dirt does stick in the neck of the globes, but it doesn't keep the globes from doing their job. Clean out the dirt, refill with water and re-insert! I am very pleased with this purchase!

  • works great

I love these. it can get pretty hot here and it is nice to not have to water my potted plans so often. I have never had a problem with them getting clogged. maybe you push them in too hard of soil. if that becomes a problem, simply make a small hole first and insert it in there. I wouldn't reccommend using them in a dry plant, water first. It will keep them moist for days. They look great and are pretty durable.
