Hand carved and tufted wool for the price of a machine made rug , very dense and nice color contrast for my area . Looks a lot more expensive than it was .
I have only had this for 2 days, but SO many good qualities about this hand tufted, NO ODOR, wool, dense, gray fabric backing, symmetrical (dimensions and pattern) rug EXCEPT that it is NOT colorfast. The pile height is nice for softness underfoot and not so high as to worry about the pattern being crushed. It could be used without a rug pad because it is heavy enough but I have ordered one (not pictured). I would caution about cleaning by total immersion a hand tufted rug anyways because it is NOT recommended due to possibility of moldy smell which won't go away. The pattern is a little different than pictured and not as "perfect" but still nice. Colors from label are Jet Black and Red Ochre which are beautiful. The red could easily be played up either way with burgundy or rust colors. The other main color is a tannish-gold, some medium browns, a little light gray, bits of off-white. Black is good for hiding dirt but I would not use this rug at entryway because of risk of getting too wet. My dog already loves it!!
I purchased this rug (3X5) for the entry into my RV. Im so happy with the integrity of workmanship. This is outstanding for the price. I intend to purchase a 5X8 for the living space.
Really like our new rug. The color is just like the photo and it is very plush underfoot. Very nice for the price. Be gentle when vacuuming though, hand-tufted rugs are not as sturdy as hand-knotted. A really aggressive vacuum will likely damage it. Overall, very happy with this purchase.
