This ramp is made by a very well known ramp maker, Prairie View Industries. I highly recommend the purchase. For those of us that use mobility devices, this is an excellent choice. I'm a big guy and my mobility device is a heavy Jazzy. There is no problem using the ramp for the chair (without me in it). I purchased the 7' for my Cadillac Escalade and it works fine. Please note the weight of the ramps. They are NOT light and if you are not strong, then 1) I recommend splitting the ramp in to two pieces and setting them up that way, side-by-side. Its like 50 pounds total so in one piece, it takes some muscle to handle it. IMPORTANT NOTE: in the 7' ramp, it is kind of steep so with my Jazzy, when loading the chair, at the very bottom of the ramp, between the street and ramp, the middle wheels do not touch the ramp or ground so I have to lean against the chair to push it up the ramp manually for about 1 foot. The tires then grab and up it goes. So you may want to get an 8' but be sure it will fit folded in your car. Being portable, when not needing my chair I can just remove it and the ramps with ease. I was very impressed with the cost through Overstock. It was 50% less than my local providers wanted and included free shipping. This is my first Overstock item to purchase. I'm now a loyal shopper. Thank you Overstock and Prairie View Industries for a great product and excellent value.
Looking for a solution to provide access to a small raised stage in a performance venue... this ramp filled the need perfectly. It enables us to use it when needed, but to easily store it when we do not. It is sturdy, folds and unfolds simply.. has good gripping service... feels rugged .. with a support weight of 600 pounds... and only weighs about 36 pounds itself... with a carrying handle built in. Durability... can't evaluate yet, but so far so good. Shipping, Billing, etc. by Overstock was excellent. A+ all the way.
These ramps are much heavier than I anticipated. I was amazed that a booklet and a DVD were sent to instruct on use of the ramps. Product use should be much simpler. The part that fits on the car is rough and I would be concerned about scratching the car's finish. I am not able to push the scooter up them so they are of no use, no value to me.. The fault is most likely in my lack of strength rather than in the product.
