Although it was advertised as usable with adjustable beds, it doesn't work very well with mine. My adjustable bed is a mattress on a wooden slatted frame. The only place that the bed doesn't have a moveable joint that interferes with the rail is at the foot of the bed. That might work for us as my husband's main problem is that his feet and legs get off the side of the bed during the night, but even in the closed position, it's very awkward for him to get in and out of the bed with the rail there to go to the bathroom and with the rail at the foot of the bed he can't reach the unit to drop it down. He might use it to steady himself when getting in and out of bed. I'll just have to wait and see if it's of any use at all. I guess it works in some situations and not others.
Bought this for my brother-in-law. I was told it installed easily and it is sturdy. Very helpful when getting in and out of the tub. They feel more secure of their footing with this item.
