I've been a flat iron user for many, many years. This is my first time purchasing a "top notch" iron. Although the iron is very nice and smooth when used, I don't see much difference between my inexpensive salon ionic iron. I've used about 8 different types of flat irons ranging from size to price. The inch and/or inch and a half size if perfect for all hair lengths. Always go for quality! The typical drugstore brands just don't work.
Heats in seconds and has an auto shutoff if there is no activity. Great on African American hair. Have used Paul Sebastian shaper hair spray on hair and used curling iron and no sticking on the curling iron and no frying of the hair
I have used various flat irons & find the CHI to be great! I really liked the FHI I had previously, it did not pull hairs as easily as the CHI, but good product for the price. If looking for a good flat iron - CHI is probably top of the line & more durable than the FHI. If a FHI comes up for much cheaper & you're on a budget - go for it. Otherwise, I would spend the difference. I drop this iron quite frequently & it seems to hold up well, much better than the FHI ever did! Great item, best price online for brand new!
