  • Scale for people that don't like the truth.

Got scale out of box. Put it on kitchen floor. Everyone was ten pounds lighter. Don't waste your money buying this expensive piece of junk. Needed to keep track of my weight and this product was way off. And yes..my floor is rug free and flat. Wish I would have sent this now.

  • Good quality - hard to see small increments (lbs)

The scale arrived, I took it out of the (well packed) box. First thing - it's HUGE. The dimensions are accurate but in addition to the size of the scale (looking down) is the raised dial area which makes the unit look really big. I thought, based on the dimensions, that it would fit in my tiny bathroom - it won't - with the height of it I'd be tripping over it constantly. If you buy this, you'll really need somewhere to put it and keep it out of the way (mine is living in the dining room). The scale is heavy duty and seems to be good quality. I like the look - sturdy and a bit old-school. Calibrating the thing has not been easy (I used workout dumbells and I still haven't been able to get the calibration accurate. Take home message- it will take some time to calibrate this thing. My only dislike (and it's a big one) is the 10-pound increments on the dial are easy to see but everything in between is not. Each line indicating a pound is the same size. It would have been much better if every second pound line was a bit longer, and the 5-pound increment line was longer still. It's quite hard to get an accurate read down to the pound (and my vision is 20/20). BOTTOM LINE - if you want an accurate, heavy-duty scale to monitor your weight from time to time and don't want to obsess about a couple of pounds either way, this is a good product. If (like me) you're trying to lose weight, this isn't a good scale if you weigh yourself and want to stay motivated in the face of 1-2 lbs lost per week - it's too hard to see increments of a couple of pounds because of the way the dial is designed. I'm keeping my digital scale until I'm in the weight range I want to be in, then I'll use this one more regularly to stay in the range.
