Sorry but if a tent says it fits 9 people, it probably fits a family of 4 comfortably. You know you have all your stuff in it and everything and you usually arent sleeping military style. We had a king size mattress and a full size and we had plenty of room to fit all our things and more people if we wanted. I love that Im able to stand up in it, at 5'9 and that it has alot of ventillation. Many people said the steaks were cheap, but the ground we were on, was soft and they worked fine, I think they are standard. My only complaint was that the zipper on the door kept catching on the tent fabric and also it really needs a bag for storing, but for the price Im very happy.
I used this tent this past weekend for a weekend camping trip. It was great! The second night it poured all night and I woke up completely dry in the morning along with all my stuff. This tent is a great deal and I recommend it to everyone and anyone!
We took this tent camping with us last weekend. It is very roomy and looks nice. It inst very hard to put together either. We will be purchasing new stakes since the ones it came with are pretty cheap and do not have pointed ends so they are difficult to put into the hard ground. Overall it is a nice tent and we are excited to use it again.
We have three of these. SUPER convenient for car camping, but much too bulky/heavy for backpacking.
The GREAT thing about these is that there is no assembling poles; you just undo it and you can almost toss it where you want it to be. We've used ours multiple times, and the thing about folding is practice. Once you get the hang of it, it takes a minute or two to fold.
We've not had ours in the rain, and took them up and down the California/Oregon coasts last Summer. Never a problem and comfortable enough for two adults.
PRACTICE folding it before you go, though.
Great tent. I loved how roomy it is. Plenty of room for suitcases, a small stool and queen size air mattresses. Also, the little front foyer added more room for personal items and added a buffer from insects and weather. My husband and I were calling it the Taj Ma Hall.
This is a very good entry level tent for the money. The stitching, zippers, poles, and other materials all seem to be high quality and the design is well thought out. The rain fly is taped and sealed which was nice to see in a tent in the Recluse's price range.
Overall, the tent is comfortable and suitable for two people with gear. You'll only be able to fit three people into this tent if your gear is stored outside.
We've used this tent in fairly heavy rainstorms and have not experience any water problems. It is breathable, but not drafty and is light weight enough to use backpacking.
There were no setup instructions included in the packaging, however, we were able to complete the setup in about 10 minutes without trouble.
We bought it for the nice height inside. Constantly leaning over in smaller tents hurts my back, but this tent is the cure. You can easily fit 4-5 single air mattresses plus luggage and space to move. Two people need to set it up, but it's not hard. It takes up a lot of space in a campsite, but we make it work. We've had it for two seasons now and it's withstood some serious rain and wind storms with no problems. We did spray it down with rain guard though. This is our second Wenzel brand tent and we've been happy with the brand.
I was not to sure about spending so much money on a tent, but, this was way worth the money. I am so glad I got this. I would definitely recommend this to anyone. It was so nice to get in the tent and change clothes STANDING UP!!! So many tents are so dome shaped you cannot stand up to change clothes, or make the bed ... this was nice. The bag it fits in is relatively small, and lightweight.
We just returned from a 13 day trip in October in Utah/Arizona/Colorado in temperatures between 30-57 @ night and 60-80 during the day. The tent was a great size for a family of 5 (2 adults, 2 teenagers, and a 10 year old). It held all our stuff (sleeping bags, air mattresses, misc. clothes). It is a good 3 season tent, but sides/floor are a bit thin for winter, and rain cover does not completely seal around ceiling screen to maintain heat. All in all, this is a great family tent if you're car camping - no way to pack it in to a camp site given its 25lb weight.
Down sides - seams leak. I read this in another review and didn't spray with silicone before using it - and paid the price in Bryce Canyon one cold and wet night. Also, you can not set up this tent if it is raining - the entire ceiling is screening (great when its warm!), but the tent will fill with water if you try during a rain storm. Learn from me - seal the tent with Silicone before you use it!
I am an avid camper and a boyscout leader.I purchased the mt. springer tent for my son and I to use on camping trips with the scouts. The tent is awesome. I like the 2 separate rooms 1 for sleeping, 1 for hanging out. The zippers work well with no snag issues. The instructions are weak but if you are familiar with tents, it goes up easy. The tent also has a real good waterproofing on the fly and tent. Better than most 3 season tents. I did have an issue with the Y connectors. they had a little surface rust on then. I called customer service they were very pleasant to talk to and sent me replacements immediately. I would recommend this tent to anybody who loves camping. If you want a quality tent with great customer service, buy a gigatent. They also offer a good warranty
I'm a 59 year-old-gramma that sets up house outdoors several times a year from late spring to early fall. and this is an awesome tent. Instructions with illustrations were easy to follow. I did study them before the first set-up.and didn't have to refer to them again. I had help this time, but I'm sure I'll be able to set it up by myself. The colors are different from the pictures. It's navy and royal blue, walls are light cream colored and the zippers are red.. It has gear poctets on each end, and on each side of the room I use as the sleeping room. I have a quuen bed, two side tables, a small chair and another small table in that half of the tent. I section off an area behind one of the two interior doors with one of the removable toom dividers to use as a closet and that takes up some of the area from the other room, but it leaves enough for a couple of large comfy chairs and side tables. My son-in-law says it's not a tent, it's an apartment. I'm 5'7" and I cannot reach the top center of the tent to hang the room divider or reach the light hook without the ever handy milk crate to stand on. with all the windows down and the rainfly off, it's wide open screen. There are even clear plastic skylights in the rainfly. I absolutely love it even though it's only been up for one afternoon. Repacked easily in the oversize bag.
Well I love the head room and the opposing door windows give nice ventilation. A little string would allow even more vents by tying out the huge rainfly a little. Patience is required for both assembly and disassembly as rods are large and sleeves are small. Snag city! Outriggers are included for foul winds, instructions are vague(remove from bag and assemble). I see no way to get tent back in bag the Chinese robot put it in,but that is industry typical I suspect. I am not disappointed in this tent. Fair price and decent quality.
Easy to set up and waterproof. It rained the whole time we were camping and it never leaked. Have only used it for one trip, but it did a great job. Not crazy about the way the flaps open and close. Would have preferred ones that zip vertically in a straight line. The circular flaps were hard to keep out of the way when getting in and out of the tent. We may find a better way to fasten the flaps back, but had trouble keeping them out of the way with the fastening system provided. Everything else about the tent is very efficient, so we will probably figure out how to resolve this problem when we use it again. We would definitely recommend this tent.
