I was trying to save some VHS movies I had from self-distruction. I thought ELGATO VIDEO CAPTURE would do the trick better than my previous system but it idid not so. Even if it is more advance than my previous capture system, the quality of the final product when I exported to the DVD format was inferior in quality to the original VHS tape. I know that the VHS quality wise is less half as good as a DVD product. Nevertheless, I expected the resulting copy should have been AS GOOD AS the original VHS tape. IN truth, IT WAS NOT and gave me an inferior resutl. F.Gajate
I was a little reluctant at first about the ease of using the software. I found out that is was easy to install and use. I was able to transfer a VHS tape of my daughter's basketball game with very little difficulty. I have 2 more tapes to go. The only problem I see is that the manual does not give enough information about what types of DVD-R you can or should use. I had one that said it would hold 120 minutes and I thought it would be no problem transferring the 100 minutes game. However, if you choose the "best" recording setting you will only get 60 minutes of recording. I have since purchased a DVD-R that say it will hold 240 minutes and plan to see if it will record the entire game in the "best" setting. All in all, I am very happy that I purchased this program.
