I bought this item on a whim, and I'm so glad that I did... The one and only thing I regret, is not shopping around a tad bit more. The day after I bought this, I saw it on sale for HALF PRICE at a retailer other than the big O. I couldn't knock the item itself down for that, as much as I wanted to :) This item runs on Android Wear, and after updating the OS and connecting it to my phone, I was hooked. It mirrors your phones notifications, so you aren't pulling it out of your pocket every 5 minutes, along with a ton of other things. The apps are still coming, but as this tech catches on more and more, the selection will improve I would think. The battery life is great when the "Always On" settings option is off for the screen. Lasts me about a day and a half that way with light use. Using the watch intensively, and leaving the ambient mode on, will definitely drain the battery much quicker. I tend to turn the ambient mode off when I'm at home or not really using the watch, and I turn it on when I go out. I charge the watch about once a day. One thing I will say however, is that this watch charges INCREDIBLY fast. I would say about 3-4 times faster than my Galaxy S6 does with its fast charger mode. It also uses the same cable as my phone, so that's pretty awesome. My only gripe is that it's a tad awkward to get the charging port rubber cover off and out of the way to plug in the charger, but you'll figure it out after a few times. As far as style goes, the black rubber is OK, I like it, but I definitely wish there was an easier way to buy the adapter and metal band on the Sony website. That's one thing I really want to do, is update the look. As you know, the lcd unit itself does pop out of the band. The metal band is over $* tho, pretty expensive. More expensive than the actual watch to be honest. There is also an adapter kicking around on eBay that sells for anywhere between $30-50 that allows you to use your own leather/metal band. Worth checking out I think, I certainly will be! All in all, I absolutely love this watch. I hope it gets the Android Wear 2 update (which was just pushed back to 2017 unfortunately), but I don't see why it wouldn't. It's one of the fastest watches out there, and can absolutely handle the new OS.hardware wise. Also! It does NOT have a heart rate sensor, don't know why, but it's not a big deal breaker I suppose. Although, I do wish that they threw one in there...
