The Sigma 30mm f/1.4 Art DC HSM Lens for Canon is a large-aperture standard digital SLR lens. It's built for the artistic photographer, with its APS-C format and an angle of view equivalent to 45 mm on a 35mm camera. With the 30mm f/1.4 DC HSM, you can unleash all of your creativity and expression. Use this sleek, compact, fairly lightweight black lens with Canon DSLR cameras.
This lens, part of Sigma's Art line, features a fixed length of 30mm and a large, bright aperture of f/1.4. This allows for faster shutter speeds and clear low-light imaging, plus shallow depth of field focus.
The lens is compatible with the Sigma USB Dock, which enables firmware updates and focusing adjustments.

Unleash Your Creativity
The Sigma 30mm f/1.4 Art DC HSM is made for versatility. Its angle of view, equivalent to 45mm on a 35mm SLR, gets close to the level of human vision. A 9-blade rounded diaphragm gives your photos a beautiful bokeh effect even at the largest aperture setting of f/1.4. Use it for landscapes, portraits, still-life, close-ups and casual shots, as well as studio photography.
Highest Level of Quality
This lens provides top-level image quality. This is because the Sigma Art line focuses on superb optical performance and expressive power. Optimized power distribution and the rear focus system that prevents focus-dependent variation in aberration. The power distribution also minimizes field curvature, preventing loss of quality at the edges. The unchanging barrel length of this lens achieves enhanced balance and stability. This lens stimulates your desire to create and gives every image its maximum potential.
Reduces Flare and Ghosting
During the design process, Sigma was careful to measure and control flare and ghosting. That is why they included Super Multi-Layer Coating. It reduces flare and ghosting so you get sharp, high-contrast images even when using strong incident light sources such as backlighting.
A lens hood with a premium quality rubberized connector is included, which you can attach to block unwanted light.
Thermally Stable Composite Material
Another technological innovation this lens uses is Thermally Stable Composite Material (TSC). TSC technology minimizes thermal shrinkage and enhances hardness, and it reduces expansion and contraction of the internal lens barrel. TSC also gives the lens 25% greater elasticity than other material.
Low thermal shrinkage allows TSC to match well with metal parts, bolstering the precise construction of the 30mm f/1.4 DC HSM. TSC also allows for slimmer forms for zoom rings and scaling rings.
Direct Image Sensor
Sigma developed their A1 MTF (modulation transfer function) measuring system using 46-megapixel Foveon direct image sensors. The 46 effective MP and 44 recording MP 23.5 x 15.7mm APS-C X3 direct image sensor captures all primary RGB colors at all pixel locations. With three vertically stacked silicon-embedded layers of photo detectors, this sensor provides more accurate color reproduction, and it gets sharper resolution than conventional sensors.
