I needed a monopod which would collapse into a smaller rod which I could easily take with me no matter where I went. It comes with a black bag with an adjustable shoulder strap. It's actually quite stable to use as opposed to relying on your hands to steady the camera. It also gives me great height, and the lever at the bottom can also help steady the camera. Underneath the platform, there is a wrap around hand pad which is very comfortable. None of the local camera stores came close to offering me the value and price that I paid for a comparable monopod.

  • Great Product!
    Verified Purchase

Wish I would have purchased a monopod years ago. Definitely makes a difference for both still and video filming and my arm is no longer tired from holding the camera. Tripods cannot be used everywhere but this product definitely can. Compact and comes with nice carrying case. Great quality product that I have already recommended to several friends.

  • Very good product
    Verified Purchase

Overall, the monopod will serve the function very well. The quick release was not compatible with my existing quick releases, but this is only a minor inconvenience. The mounting head with pan and swivel controls is superfluous. It is a monopod! All of those motions are accomplished by simple manipulation of the monopod. Great price!!!

I purchased this monopod, with no previous monopod experience, only tri-pods. It is pretty easy to set up and fold down. There is an attachment that you leave on the bottom of your camera to make for quick attaching of the camera to the pod. For the price it is good quality and farily light. I have had it just a month.

  • A Good Enhancement

It really helps in getting steady pictures inside without a flash. Since museums don't allow tripods, this is the second best to steady the camera. I plan to visit some exhibitions and museums shortly and will be really anxious to see the results.

  • Very Poor Design
    Verified Purchase

The Rokinin 71-inch Monopod is poorly design and does not prevent the camera from shaking - which was the reason one uses a tripod. There is no foot brace or stand and the tacky little aggle that is placed at the bottom - supposedly to steady the stand DOES NOT WORK. One is better of just holding the camera against a stable object and hope for the best. The Rokinon 71-inch Monopod is waste of money and time... If you are looking for a practical tripod, get something that has the scissor legs WITH BRACES...

THE CARRYING CASE WAS NOT EXPECTED AND HANDY. THE FOOT STABILIZER WAS NOT EXPECTED BUT WORKS ALTHOUGH IT SOMETIMES GETS IN THE WAY AND WHEN CLOSING WILL UNLOCK THE LOWER SECTION. JUST A LITTLE PRACTICE RESULTED MUCH STEADIER VIDEOS. ITS EVEN WORKS FOR MOVING OBJECT THAT CHANGE ELEVATIONS SUCH AS BIRDS AND SKIERS AND SNOWBOARDERS.

This item arrived quickly and undamaged. The unit is strong and usable and good for what it is intended. Won't replace a tripod, so don't expect it to. It is for shooting pictures when you need to steady the camera better than just holding it. For this it works great. The foot piece is a bit combersome, but not a problem.

I have to admit that I haven’t gotten as much use out of it that I thought I would. However, that being said, the cost was reasonable and the quality is good. If you are looking for a monopod I do think that this one is quite efficient and definitely won’t break the bank.

It works great and looks much more expensive than it was. The quick releas has been handy a few times already. The stabilizing foot on the base seems to get in the way, unless I am using it wrong, oh!... And it came with no instructions for that feature.
