prior to ordering and receiving the C88+ I didnot know what to do with an old program that I have used for years about 15 to 18. My old C88+ gave out on me and when I bought a new printer, the program would not recognize it. After pulling my hair out (I don't have much) I finally thought I would try Epson and to my surprise the C88+ was still available. I am now working with my old program and thanks to Epson I am saving my hair for next problem. THANK YOU
I am highly familiar with Epson printers. I recently decided to start doing prints again for a portfolio. Out of the box, pretty straightforward including a full set of tanks. Wi-Fi was easy via the software included with the printer. I shoot a 3:2 aspect ratio and print 4x6, 8x12 (9x13 paper), 12x18 (13x19 paper) prints. I use professional photo high grade paper versus consumer store photo paper. I use Lightroom as my print source. The printer features control (Epson software) are easy to use with specific settings for output (such as 2880 x 1440 dpi). Some ICC profiles are a little tricky to use as output did not match monitor calibration. However, a second print using Epson print control proved exceptional output. A 13 x 19 print yielding a 12 x 18 print with a 1/4 inch matt border takes about a half hour per print. Ink flow is vastly improved over the R300 from years ago yielding more prints per tank set. Overall, I love the printer! Metallic prints are exceptional!
I was happy to receive this printer for my birthday in May but ever since I have been having problems with the 12 x 12 Matte paper. its seems that when the spools want to pull the paper I always end up pressing the garbage can button over & over again..by the time it prints one page its because I have pressed that button like 20 times. other than this I like the print quality
I bought for myself and daughter. I do graphics for a county fair and my daughter makes computer graphics, artwork (paint then scan into computer), writes stories and illustrates them and has a website that she uses to put out her main story with graphics for people to read and follow. Bought the printer to printout 19X13 inch small posters along with 17X11, 12 X 12, and smaller prints of her artwork. This printer was one of the easiest to set up that I have had the pleasure to set up. The WI-FI connected almost instantly to my router and was ready to go in less than 5 minutes. Minor problem for us: Found that we could not print out any 19X13 computer generated art work in the PNG format (Micromedia on a PC), had to convert them to Jpeg. After that they would print about 90% then fail at the 19X13 size. By reducing the size to below 17X11, all graphics printed out for her using photo paper and high quality printing. Absolutely amazing printouts were realized. I am able to print out all my 19X13 posters that I use to identify sections of our building at the fair grounds. (12 total) these have clip art, photo art and a central logo for the Fair. These have printed out superbly without a single problem using Word and Publisher. So far have not ran the machine out of ink so am very happy with the way it prints for me, my daughter not so much but am trying to find some workarounds or reducing the size of her files. Overall very happy with the purchase of this machine, plus the colors and graphics are outstanding.
