I've had my 1430 about a year. I bought it for the wireless feature and love that. I was surprised when I went to use a fine art paper however. It wouldn't feed it. You are pretty much limited to standard EPSON papers. This is a little sad because the quality of the photos would lend itself well to some trick papers. I have a two item wish list for my next printer purchase. One, more paper choices and two, make it tankless. Shouldn't your actual photo printers be the ones you can actually pour ink into?
Bought this over a year ago. Prints great pictures I like the DVD label printer part makes nice labels directly on the DVD! (of course you have to buy hub printable DVD's or CD's) once and a while the sheets don't come out to print not that it gets stuck I think I have to somehow clean the rollers so it will grab the paper better, I just hit the button to eject the paper then hit print again that works most of the time. Other than that it;'s a great printer, especially the glossy photo prints.
I am 70 years old and have been shooting photos since I was about 8. I kept a lot of the negatives in a cigar box I painted in cub scouts. It is time to preserve the images. This scanner does just want I want. I can fit the various odd format negatives in the film holders with a little bit of creative use of black construction paper. I am scanning them at the highest resolution. It takes some time, but the results are great. Storage is cheap so why not get the b best resolution. If I had to scan stuff 40 hours a week, I might have gone for something quicker, but for what I am doing this fits the bill. I also use it for OCR and it works fine for that too.
I bought this printer because I wanted to step up to higher quality print; and have be very satisfied. But, instructions on how to set up the printer for different color management options and different papers is very poor. The user manual need to be rewritten to make it easier to understand because right now it mostly gibberish.
