This replaced a 13 year old 650 unit. I might have gone for an even larger UPC, but this one supplies back-up power to some of my computer peripherals. Doing a terrific job so far. Would be nice if I get over 10 years on this unit as well.
As expected on first power on. Just like other APC products I have owned. As advertised. No problems. Does its job effectively. I expect years of trouble free performance. Bet I get it, too.
Purchased this UPS when my old one finally rolled over and died. Three days after installation, this area experienced a very heavy, wet snow event. Utility power flickered and surged for well over an hour at my location. I have my computer, monitor and DSL modem plugged into the UPS portion. Everything continued to work normally. The UPS was clicking and maintaining a constant voltage. Over half of the modems in the county blew their programming - the provider techs spent Thanksgiving through the weekend reprogramming at great expense to the provider. My modem was fine, thanks to the UPS. I checked the UPS operation during a planned utility power outage when the house went to generator power. Again, the voltage stayed clean and fairly constant. To say I am pleased with the unit is a supreme understatement. Thanks for adding AVR technology to your products. It really saved my equipment.
When it arrived, you could tell it had a rough ride getting here. One corner was pretty mashed. I opened the box and the styrofoam packing was borke. When I got the unit out, part of the outer casing was broken and fell off right next to one of the control buttons. But I went ahead and plugged it in to get it charged up. It held the charge and has been working so far. Our power has flickered and gone off briefly since it arrived and it did it's job and kept my Dell T3500 Precision workstation, monitor, router and modem going smoothly with no interruption. I'd give it 5 stars, but even though it showed up fast, it was damaged. Hopefully it'll keep working. I'm glad I went ahaead and bought for the extended warranty.
