I enjoy using this lens for outdoor portrait photography, some wildlife and selective landscape photography. I've had many good indoor shots as well. The autofocus is fast and silent, the image sharpness is INCREDIBLE. The most surprising feature is how lightweight this lens is, despite feeling well built. At half the weight of the f/2.8 version, this one is easily handheld. Use a 1.4x or 2x extender for longer range. I also like the included lens hood.
I bought this for its long reach for wildlife photos. I also use it on an olympus body. Autofocus speed and tracking are fair, but that is also dependent on the camera body. Image quality is excellent, I have taken images with this lens that rival National Geographic. There is some purple fringing, but it is mild and easily removed in Photoshop. The lens and camera fell on a hard dirty surface when a cheap plastic aftermarket clip broke, but both still worked fine afterwards, so I would say it is a durable lens. All in all, quite pleased with this lens.
I'm using it with a Sony Alpha 6000. I'm using it to replace the two 'kit' lenses (16-50 zoom) and (55-210 zoom) that came with the kit. The 18-200 fits, works. I like having a single zoom for the type of shooting I do - where I'm doing quick snaps and changing rapidly between a wide shoot and a zoom/closeup. I do wish it was a bit 'longer' but its a compromise zoom. There is one weird artifact of the OSS that I did not see with the prior lens set - occasionally the autofocus will jump back and forth trying to find / decide the focus length.
