  • CD player didn't last!
    Verified Purchase

This is very nice looking and it did work fine for at least six months. Used to wake-up my husband five mornings a week and was on about two minutes per day. Unfortunately; the CD player quit working! Pretty sad.

  • Great Clock Radio
    Verified Purchase

We use these in our B&B and they have proven to be great clock radios. They are the best that we have ever found and simple to operate for our guests and innkeepers.

  • You could do better...

I have had this clock/radio/CD unit in my master bedroom. The light for the clock is so bright, we have to cover it at night. The CD player does not consistently play well, nor at a decent volume. In other words, there is one volume for the radio and then you need to crank it all the way up to hear the CD player. Everything in the previous review, I would "second" their info. as well.

  • Not junk, but not much better

This unit potentially packs a lot of punch for the buck, however, it falls short of my expectations. If you only listen to FM radio and don't rely on the clock being accurate, you'll like it just fine. I have this unit and the Sony like it Overstock sells at the same price. I've had the Sony unit for 3 years and this Philips unit for just over a year now. I use it in my master bathroom for morning news and for CD sound when I clean up after work. Firstly, it REFUSES to hold an AM radio signal and I constantly have to fine tune it as the signal begins to drift every few minutes. The CD player plays very quietly and you have to crank the volume way up to hear it, however, the radio plays just fine with no such volume adjustments. Finally, the clock is not accurate at all. Mine gains about 5 minutes a month. Sony makes a unit the same size as this, with the same and more features and it has NONE of the problems this Philips unit has. Perhaps the problems I have experienced are unique to my unit alone, but since the Sony is the same price here on Overstock, why not just get the better product to begin with?
