  • Great camera Nikon S4000

I bought this camera for my wife a couple years ago. She's a bit of a tecnophobe. She loves it. Takes great photos. Easy zoom and shutter controls. Touch screen controls are easy for her to understand and use. Many useful shooting modes. She says it's easily the best camera she has ever owned.

  • Second worst camera ever bought

My old Olympus APS film camera is 10 times better than this POS and it worked when I needed it to. Touch screen is difficult to operate with or without stylus. Digital processing time for photos means I miss pretty much every shot I try to take, even with the "sports" setting on. It also means that any time you want to take a picture of someone there is at least a 1 second lag - so they have to sit there like idiots waiting for the "is it done yet" moment. Straight out of the box this camera was frustrating to use - worse than the (supposedly inferior) Kodaks. I thought it was me, with 10+ years digital film experience. So I read the (nonexistent, online not helpful) manual and came to realize - it's just a POS. Kind of like the Vivitar 110 camera I had when I was 12. But wait - THAT was better than this. At least it took the pictures when I asked it to. Unreliable garbage that will break if you look at it sideways. I wish I had my money back (which I can't get because I bought the refurbished one like this one). Garbage.

This camera was easy to use. I purchased a refurbished camera and it looked brand new. Really happy with the pictures.
