  • Deeply flawed, but performs its intended function
    Verified Purchase

We bought this system to play MP3s in our son's room. We didn't want to connect a phone or MP3 player, and this lets us use an SD card or USB drive. For the strict purpose of playing digital music from our collection, this does the job at a reasonable price. However I am not sure I would buy it again. We have only used the system for playing MP3s off an SD card. The player's flaws include: the volume resets to "20" every time the system is turned off (I had read this in another review and couldn't believe that it was true. It is.); the tiny, alarm-clock style screen only displays seven (7!) characters of text (for artist, song title, etc., which, by the way, only appears if you toggle a setting); the "random" function is actually random, rather than shuffle - it won't shuffle through all the tracks completely and a song can get repeated soon after it was played; the sound is muddy - we knew we weren't buying a high-end product, but it should have been better; whatever play mode it is on (random, repeat, etc) gets reset every time you hit stop, even if you don't turn the unit off; and finally, the controls are awkward and unintuitive. The system is not enjoyable to use, but we are still glad to be able to play music from our collection.

  • Not That Bad, Considering ...
    Verified Purchase

Like another reviewer writes, this compact unit will play music from my non-IPod MP3 player. The sound is fine, radio reception seems poor, but that may be my location. It's really just what I wanted.

  • Boot up volume blast
    Verified Purchase

one complaint - probably the only one is that when turning this unit on the volume always resets to very loud, so if you turn on the unit while it is set for tuner, the volume will blast you out of the room then you have to adjust it lower. Not very wise to manufacture an item that does this. Quality of sound is OK, definately not stereo quality but this isn't a high end unit either.

  • Great little shelf system.
    Verified Purchase

Pretty much like this little shelf system. LOVE being able to play music from USB drive, SD card or my MP3 player (this is the ONLY system I could find anywhere that is not restricted to IPOD compatibility. YAAAAY! ). When system is mounted on the stand, and USB stick is of the 2 inch long type, port is hard to access, so I have my system sitting flat just on the wall mount base and it's fine. Haven't familiarized myself with all functions yet, but seems to have many listening options. Was really pleased with the quality of sound for such an inexpensive and small system. Its not surround sound for sure, but has good, clear tones. Great for listening while in my office filling out tax forms or paying bills! I'm definitely impressed. Bought another one for my daughter's 40th birthday to use in her office at work.
