WE LOVE USING THIS ITEM. WE CALL IT A PILLOW. WHILE DRIVING YOU CAN LOCATE THE PILLOW WHEREVER WORKS FOR YOU AND IT STAYS PUT. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS ITEM.
I have been building server racks for about three years now and my company has always ordered another brand of KVM (Advocent.) After experiencing many issues with the other brand, I was asked to find a new KVM for use in the future. I've had this one for about 1 month now and it has been better in every way. It comes as one piece so there is no assembly required. It responds very quickly when cycling through the servers and cycling is as easy as pressing one button. The display is big and clear and the unit locks into the rack with two spring loaded latches, which is much nicer than the thumbscrews I'm used to that never work right. The only problem I have, and this might just be me, is that the cycle controls feel backward. I use the thing every day and still find myself cycling the wrong way constantly (This is a very minor inconvenience though because, as I said before, cycling is very easy anyway.) All in all, it has been very easy to work with so far and I have recommended this product for future use.
I got this because I have a bad back and sitting is a killer on back pain. I only had used it for about a week or so now, so we'll see about the longevity, but so far I like. It sits fairly sturdy on my desk, though my monitors do wobble a bit when I type (maybe I need to type more lightly?). Adjusting the tension to be just-right takes a while & will need to be readjusted with any changes to monitors, etc. It's super easy to adjust the working height (again, you'll need to adjust the tension to get it just right). If this stand lasts 10 years or more, then I'll say it was worth the price, but if the tension system fails in short order, then I would have to reassess the purchase--guess time will tell. One very annoying thing was the enormous MOLDED STYROFOAM pieces used to ship this product. I've never seen such huge pieces of styrofoam before! It seemed excessive and I felt a combo of less foam and some rigid, shaped cardboard would've been sufficient. My city doesn't recycle styrofoam and it was a pain to break it down to get rid of it in the trash (otherwise I would have to pay to throw away the styrofoam monster!)
This product is great! I have set up 1 full arm, as well as 1 short arm. 24 and a heavy 21 sit nicely atop the mounts. It looks very classy, and professional. We have arms at work and I was like I hate my stand I want this. Top quality metal, the arms weigh more than the monitors! I feel these arms could handle some tv screens and still be great, just remember you need clearance on the back end.
