Wanted a fitness and sleep tracker abs this is amazing. Paring it was super easy and I'm extremely pleased with this purchase. I will buy another for my mom.
Cycling accident and a few surgeries later, I decided I needed something for PT and Post op after RC repair. Sleep, eating, timer, alarm function, text and weather alert and I could wear it in the shower. I am really pleased with this watch. Steps, Flights of Stairs, I'm back on a bike (Inside) spinning again and the Vivoactive HR is giving me an excellent view of my progress. I have small wrists but the Regular size fits great and it would fit some one with larger wrists (check sizing). Here's where I land. It pairs great with my BlackBerry Priv (Android). It's comfortable. It's very accurate. It gives me a world of indoor and outdoor activities to track as well as calories and sleep and notifications. I do find the display a little dim in low light, but I'm typically just looking at the "classic watch face I added for free". I will order a screen protector for it. I'm sure I could get by without one, but I want to keep this one looking great. I can only compare this to FB and and MS Band. (Both were good but each had their area they did well in). The Garmin VHR hits pretty accurately on all check points as it was advertised. I could have spent more on a different band but this tics off all of the major needs for me. I do recommend this for anyone trying to stay in good shape, men and women. I don't use this band for tracking my lifting and I'm not a runner. It's cycling, step, HR, sleep, accuracy are reliable. If you're a specific sport competitive athlete the Garmin line up has other bands specific to one sport. This one covers a tremendous amount of health areas and does it very well. It's not as big as looks and I've had no negative comments about it (I wear a regular watch on my left wrist now and the the Garmin on my right). While I'm 50% with my comeback (shoulder), this Garmin Band is giving me motivation. Can't explain it. If I'm wearing it, I'm looking at my steps, and calories and Sleep quality. This was a great investment for me.
This refurbished Garmin works well as a backup to my main Garmin Forerunner watch. It connected to my phone with ease. Garmin Connect works well with it and instantly uploads all of my workouts. Although this watch has a backlight, the notifications are still a bit hard to read (if you have poor vision like me). Speaking of notifications, there was no problem syncing my Samsung galaxy 7 with the watch.
My seven year old outgrew her Garmin Junior so I upgraded her to this model because she wanted a specific color band that was available. The vivofit 2 "small" fits her very well. She isn't quite strong enough to press the button through the thick band material though so she only uses the watch function. It took us three days and multiple calls to Garmin customer service before the watch would sync correctly. If I were to do it all over again, I would buy her a Fitbit.
