My seven year old outgrew her Garmin Junior so I upgraded her to this model because she wanted a specific color band that was available. The vivofit 2 "small" fits her very well. She isn't quite strong enough to press the button through the thick band material though so she only uses the watch function. It took us three days and multiple calls to Garmin customer service before the watch would sync correctly. If I were to do it all over again, I would buy her a Fitbit.
Having tried every fitbit out there and having nothing but problems - with either the device falling apart or wrist pain (with the newer wrist-based HR devices), I was cautiously optimistic. I had a Garmin YEARS ago and loved it. This forerunner has been awesome. No pain. Holds a charge for a long time. The chest strap HR works better than my wrist-based devices and seems to give much more accurate readings. And the GPS on this watch is super fast and on target. It's a simple watch. It isn't touch screen. And I like that. It has all I could ever want/need in a fitness watch. If you're looking for a fitness/running watch, look no further. If you are looking for a fancy, flashy smart watch, get an apple.
Perfect smart watch for fitness or every day use. Use it to monitor steps at work or set up to monitor all kinds of exercise, including golf. Has GPS. Recieve text messages and monitor heart rate. Great purchase!!
This refurbished Garmin works well as a backup to my main Garmin Forerunner watch. It connected to my phone with ease. Garmin Connect works well with it and instantly uploads all of my workouts. Although this watch has a backlight, the notifications are still a bit hard to read (if you have poor vision like me). Speaking of notifications, there was no problem syncing my Samsung galaxy 7 with the watch.
