I got this lens for my Nikon D5000. I put it on the camera and it worked like a dream. At long range you have to be careful not to move or you will get some distortion but using a tripod should take care of that. Excellent for the money.
Great Lens and Good Price. Focusing is a little tricky at night in low light settings. Wanted to get this lens before I dropped the money on the nikon Fishey.
The quality of the lens is superb. Excellent build quality and optical performance. It may not be quite up to par with the Nikon equivalent, but it is a tremendous value at less than half the price of the Nikon. The only complaint I have is that this IS a grey market lens. The warranty card inside is for Hong Kong or Macau, which means if you're in the US, there is NO warranty, despite what the description above says. That said, in my 20 or so years of dabbling in photography, I've never had to claim warranty service on a lens. At the price I paid, I assumed this was the case and was willing to take the chance. But for those less knowledgeable in regards to the photography market, you should be aware that if something happens to the lens, you'll be paying for repairs out of pocket.
After hearing all the praise for Sigma's Art line of lenses I decided to purchase the 35mm and I could not be more happy with my purchase. It is sharp wide open and the bokeh is beautiful. I'll be adding other prime lenses from their art line to my camera bag.
