Replacement for purchase of a refurbished HP Laptop that I bought from Overstock about 4 years ago. ( BTW/ that one still works). Overall this computer is great. The only reason I can see that it would be sold as refurbished is because of a small dent on the outside case. The computer works great for all of my needs.( Internet, email, MS office, Personal Finance programs). The only con that I have is that the mouse mover button in the center of the keyboard comes loose. I use an external wireless mouse, so not a big issue.
Laptop 1 -The shell of the laptop has been covered by a metallic looking sticker with several bubbles. This is only superficial and I can overlook this. Unfortunately, the keyboard keys have new 'labels'. A few are quite crooked (along with core i5 label). Also, these labels cover the raised bumps that would normally allow a typist to feel that their index fingers have correct placement (especially important when the user of this laptop is enrolled in a typing course). The mouse stick in the middle of the keyboard has a cap that easily comes off with the slightest touch. Not all laptop rubber feet were on the laptop. Wireless mouse must be plugged in on left side for it to work by USB port. Laptop 2 - Laptop rubber feet - some are missing but it looks like someone took the time to try to color them in with permanent marker. Top of screen has a line across it. The laptop screen flickers at time. Not all of the USB slots work. These laptops were bought for my children to use at school. Mailing back for return or repair is not feasible until Christmas break. This is an inconvenient situation.
This computer is perfect, bit I had to give it four Stars. The reason for this is the speakers. They are terrible low and i am still trying to let it connect wireless to a blue tooth Speaker. Other than that i will recommend it to who wishes to buy. Great lighted keyboard. and in great condition. A very good bargain for the price.
I'm happy with this laptop. To hopefully ease the transition to Windows 10 I applied all the Win7 updates then went straight to Win10 before doing anything else to the laptop. All went smoothly and quickly. The SSD makes startup and shutdown very fast. The laptop is a bit heavy, but also feels very sturdy. No problems with wireless since turning off the energy-saving feature for wifi in Win10 - tip found via internet search.
