I purchased this laptop to replace a windows 7 machine and it has been a great replacement. Faster than former laptop with 12 GB of memory and streams video really well. Lacks an HDMI output, which is odd and unexpected, and battery life is predictably mediocre, but performance is otherwise very good. Can't tell that it's a referbished item.
Great laptop - looks and works like new. SSD Drive is super fast. I also love the fact that it is Windows 7. Wrong charger was sent but customer service is fixing this.
This is great hardware but a terrible version of Win7 was provided, with literal malware installed in the OS startup (Desktop.exe) and the IE browser was booby trapped with malware, with popups claiming immediately that I had to fix my computer, and hijacked Google Chrome to always start at a certain search engine page. I finally killed the whole thing and loaded my own fresh Win7 Pro 64 install instead. Not a good thing to have to do to a new computer. But I am much happier now. I downloaded all hardware drivers from HP, and the drivers for video and audio are much better, as well as the USB drivers. In fact all the drivers I believe are the correct drivers to use, unlike the junk that was loaded before. I would also suggest to blow away both partitions with Acronis Disc Director or similar before you re-install your own OS, to skip the boot delay where you can choose to either start or go to system restore mode, because there is no reason to go back to the image loaded on that machine before.
