I had reservations about purchasing a refurbished laptop. After doing considerable research, I opted to purchase this specific laptop (SSD for faster computing) from Joy Systems. Since I have an account with Overstock, it was easier for me to purchase the computer through them and the price was competitive. Upon delivery, I was impressed with the physical state of the computer and it has run perfectly so far. I literally have no complaints. I will not hesitate to purchase another computer from Joy Systems in the future. Buying refurbished is good for the environment and I truly feel that you aren't losing anything in regards to performance. Very happy customer!
I wanted a light, durable laptop with a decent processor and good battery life to replace my 11 inch chromebook. Size wise, the E7250 is great. It's pretty thin, especially considering the number of ports it has. The screen bezel is there, but it's not distractingly huge. Speaking of ports, this has more than enough. It has a full size SD card slot which is important to me, since my cameras use them. The i5-5300u is pretty good. Certainly much better than the newer Celeron in my chromebook, which was the main reason I wanted to upgrade. Bulid quality on the E7250 is great, it's very solid, just as I expect from a business class laptop. The keyboard deck has a slight soft touch feel, and it feels great. Keyboard is pretty good too and layout is pretty standard, no weird key sizes and placement. It isn't as good as a thinkpad t series keyboard though. Overall, the laptop felt pretty snappy. And the specs I got were really good for the price I paid. (8gb ram, 256gb ssd, Win 10 pro). However, one thing that brings the whole feel of the laptop down was the screen. I knew, buying this laptop, that I was getting a 768p TN display panel. But this screen was worse that I thought. Viewing angles, as expected from a TN, were pretty bad. But even worse was the colors. The screen was very inaccurate, with a heavy blue tint. That problem mostly went away with some calibration. But the colors in general are still very washed out and vastly inferior. Even compared to my chromebook which cost half as much as this, and came with an IPS screen. I've owned TN display laptops before, but this E7250 seems particularly bad. Nonetheless, I didn't buy this laptop for the screen. I bought it for the portability, battery life (which is good), keyboard, great build, and specs for the price. I am happy with my purchase, it is an excellent laptop undermined by a poor display.
