If this wasn't such a fantastic laptop, I would purchase something else. This vendor is a "Certified Microsoft Refurbisher". It says so right on the shipping tape on the package. The first computer's key board was not functioning, that is not all of the keys registered when pressed. It took almost a month to get it replaced and when that came back and I turned it on the fan was so noisey, then the screen came on and said there is a defective fan. I ordered a second laptop, same model for another customer of mine and that computer had a defective ram stick. I called Overstock and they asked if I tried to contact the vendor. At first I did not but Overstock went to bat for me...Good job Overstock. I finally got a hold of the vendor, explained my problems and nothing got done for another 2 weeks. Finally, I got a hold of a tech at the vendor's office and he took care of all of my problems personally, apologized and got the job done. I really have to respect that fellow, all of the other tech's seemed to have an "I don't care" attitude. Thanks Overstock for taking care of your customers'.
I had been shopping for a laptop for at least 5 weeks and settled on this product. My list of required features included 15.5” screen size, SSD, backlit keyboard, DVD, VGA port, front facing camera and Windows 10. This machine weight is 5 pounds (MOL) which is another advantage. This is the first refurbished PC I have purchased and I am positive about this laptop. Overall, I am happy with my purchase.
I'm actually writing this review for this laptop by using this laptop. It arrived promptly, exactly as described, and I love the touch screen feature more than I thought I would. Considering the size of the screen, the batter life is pretty good, I'm happy with it. It's not amazing or anything, but for sure it's not sub par at all. I'm glad I made the purchase, and I would buy this laptop again at this price.
I wanted a laptop with a built-in CD/DVD drive and this was one of Lenovo's last models to include this feature. Initially I was put off that it wasn't a factory refurb, but from a company in New Jersey called Joy Systems, although my concerns were unnecessary. The laptop specs actually exceeded the listed specs, 1600x900 video, 16 GB ram, USB 3, etc. I did my homework and knew some of this ahead of time. The screen is flawless and battery life around 4 hours. YMMV. My only quibble is that instead of replacing worn parts (keyboard, track pad, palm rests) Joy Systems instead covered them with black, tactile contact paper. Initially I knew the keyboard was different (maybe a Chinese aftermarket part?), but it took a week to notice the stickers. The covering on the right palm rest didn't fit right and I called them for a replacement. When I peeled off the original...the plastic underneath looked brand new! I suspect the laptop shows wear somewhere, but am still highly pleased with my purchase.
