I have only had this laptop for about a month, but so far, it has been great. It is not dainty by any stretch of the imagination. It is actually huge for a 15.6 laptop, both in terms of length, width, and depth. It is also heavy. The charger is big too...and heavy. It is not particularly pretty, at best we can say it has classic good looks. so why did I give it 5 stars? Because I don't care about any of that. This is my desktop replacement and it is perfect in that capacity. It is very fast, feels solid, has 4 USB ports including 2 3.0 ports which is great considering I have a 1 TB external drive plugged in to it. I plug in an external mouse, keyboard, 24" monitor and printer. The external video port (forgot the name of it) is a great alternative to VGA. I bought a cord that goes from that to HDMI for my monitor. Also, with the size you get a full size keyboard, a DVD writer, and all the ports you could ask for. Lastly, it came with Windows 7 Pro instead of Windows 10 which is an annoying disaster of an O/S in my opinion. About the same time this arrived, my wife received a replacement laptop from her company which was also an Lenovo. It was one of the dainty, convertibles with touch screen and light. I mean polar opposite of this laptop. So if that is your thing, you have options, but you will be giving up performance as well as other key items. After using a computer with 16gb RAM, I will never go back.
I bought this computer because I like HP and have been very pleased thus far. I haven't had the opportunity to use it much but so far I have no issues or complaints. I'm not the most tech savvy but it has the specs I need and runs well. I was leery about buying a refurbished product but this one not only meets my expectations, it exceeds them. I only gave 4 stars because the delivery process was slower than I would have like, but it was delivered on the scheduled day. If you want a decent computer you can't go wrong with this one. At the price I paid, I'm very pleased.
Alright....I've had this laptop for almost 4 months and can't really give it more than 3 stars. Pros: -Price was good for the speed / general specs. -Size is great, small and portable. -Came with Windows 7 -Battery still has good performance - can use it during my ~4 hour class without plugging in (with appropriate power saving settings) -So far, no issues with actual performance -Runs fairly quiet. Cons: 1) Refurb job is a JOKE. By far my biggest ding. -Doesn't just start up in Windows, you must select Windows every time the computer restarts. -None of the proper drivers are installed. For example, the fingerprint scanner doesn't function, nor did it come with the proper software to activate. I tried to find the settings for the touchpad, and again the proper software/settings are nowhere to be found. This is certainly NOT "like new" or "almost new" condition. For that to qualify, I expect the machine to function flawlessly out of the box. 2) Touchpad is ultra sensitive at the wrong times. It is constantly registering a 'tap' while typing, which leads to you typing and inserting text into previous sentences, etc. 3) Ports - only comes with 2 USB (stacked), and a variety of outdated ports that will never be used 4) Display is, again, fine.. Nothing fancy Just a few comments about appearance -This laptop is old. Certainly not a sexy device, but still a workhorse. -The keyboard has labels stuck to the keys. Most adhere well, but a few have corners poking up. Just a distraction. -The keyboard does show signs of wear. A few keys need to be pressed extra hard to work, etc -Condition is OK, but a few nicks/scratches present, but as you would expect. -I have not had any issues with overheating or the fan running too much. Would I repurchase? Tough call. Jury is still out. Ultimately it serves my needs, so...maybe? I'm not doing back-flips over the purchase, but it certainly does the job.
I ordered this laptop and the battery only lasted 5 min unplugged, so I ordered a new battery, not from them and the battery did not fit.So I got my magnify glass out to see if this was the wright laptop and it was not what i ordered. Then they tell me they are all out of the laptop i ordered so I asked for a up grade in laptops then they say we have the laptops you ordered and I am still waiting for my laptops I ordered, no discount or even rush delivery for all the BS.Refurbished means a battery that will run for 2hrs or 4 hrs but not 5 min. They want 80$ for a new battery but i got mine for 17$.Not Happy With OVERSTOCK.Com and still waiting for my Laptops I ordered .
