Great budget photography monitor, mac problems
This Asus PB278Q 27" LED LCD Monitor is a great budget pick for anyone wanting a decent monitor for professional photography work. The color is great and I would say better than an NEC with a few years in it. Takes calibrations well. The problem with this is the sleep or standby sensor somehow doesn't detect when my 2012 17" macbook pro wakes up from sleep and won't come back on. This results in a very unpredictable pushing of the input button trying to get the laptop to see the display. Very annoying! Almost unacceptable actually. I've thought of throwing it out the window because of this problem. ASUS corresponded with me about the issue and said to RMA it. LOL. Cheap monitor problems.

The picture on this HP monitor is good, easy to set up,and easy to adjust the picture settings. The sound from the two speakers built in to the monitor are not very good!Very tinney sounding!! I have an equalizer on my computer, and have boosted the lower frequencies as high as they will go! No help!I by the way,I am a retired Regional sales manager for Harmon Kardon & JBL Corp.If you don't have a very good ear,I would recommend buying this Monitor.
