I use this keyboard at work and I love it, so i bought one for home. Microsoft makes the best keyboards. *By submitting a review, each employee received a sweepstakes entry*
I've bought many of this keyboard over the years. I type for a living, sometimes over 60 hours a week, and this keyboard never lets me down, and I've never had problems w/ carpal tunnel issues (I sit it in my lap, adjust if I start to feel any hint of strain though that's happened only a very few times over the years). It enables you greater flexibility as to where you're typing as well (of course with a portable computer).
I saw one review on this site for this site that was totally bogus, so I just wanted to share my experience. I purchased this item about a year ago. It took some getting use to on the keyboard because I've always just had traditional keyboards, but It works great. It also works fantastic for gaming or work. The best part is the mouse. I use to get carpal tunnel in my hands which made it very hard to do my work as a graphic designer. But this mouse has made my life a lot better. I no longer have pain while working. The batteries also seem to last a long time. I saw some people complaining about the separate batteries for the keyboard, mouse and number pad but in reality they hardly ever need to be changed. Just to note, I use to be a big ******** fan, but lately have not been too happy with my products so I decided to go the Microsoft route and I wouldn't trade this product for anything.
I've been using the Natural Ergonomic Keyboard for probably 20 years. While there are other keyboards out there, this is the one that seems to help best with my arthritis and carpal tunnel. The keyboard is also especially useful for men (or women) that have extra large or larger hands. The only complaint I've ever had is that the white lettering on the keys fades all too quick. If Microsoft, or someone connected to their accessories division, reads this comment then please consider creating a keyboard that is backlit and that uses better print on the individual keys. Other than that small issue, the keyboard is fantastic and the reason I have for is that each time I buy a new one I move the used one to another computer. So far I have the new one on my home office, a 2nd one in my small music studio, and a 3rd one on a secondary computer in our guestroom. The 4th one has been moved to reserve duty. By it, you'll like it.
