I have had this case for over a year now- and it has protected my ipod very well. At this point, it has been dropped multiple times, and has scratches on it everywhere - but my ipod underneath is still is clean and scratch free as the day I put the case on. So it has done it's job well. I will have to replace it soon because it is getting hard to read the screen through all the scratches, so if the screen part could be made a little more scratch resistant that would be better. But... I am very hard on electronics (so I've been told) so it's probably user fault and not project fault. I would recommend that anyone getting any product like an ipad, ipod, phone, etc, buy some kind of case to keep it from breaking and getting scratched and dinged up through daily use. My ipod goes with me everywhere because I have too much on it (podcasts, music, books on tape, etc) for my phone to hold all that info - so I use the ipod DAILY at work, in the car, everywhere. It gets thrown on the car floor sometimes if I stop short, it gets tossed around in my purse or stuffed in a pocket, and the case has held up and keep the unit safe. As it was designed to do. This case is actually the only kind I've ever bought for both my ipods, and it's the best kind for wear and tear.
I was looking for an iPod case for my 5th gen. Nano and found this one. Read the reviews and found some other buyers had used it for their 5th gen. although it is made for a 4th gen. Nano. It fits a 5th gen. Nano quite well with the caveat of no opening for the headphone plug-in. The 4th gen. Nano had the headphone jack on the opposite side. The window is not quite big enough to completely expose the "shuttle ring" - the bottom fourth is below the window - which was not a problem for me. Also be aware that there is no opening for the camera/microphone - also not a problem for me but may be for others. I think the case is a good value and appears to be quite well made. I like the integrated clip so it can be attached to a belt or pocket - the main selling point for me. I had to modify the case for my Nano due to what I mentioned above. I fashioned an opening on the proper side for my Nano. Since the material appears to be a synthetic leather I was able to create a smooth opening with a soldering iron. It works for me, but may not for other buyers so you may want to consider this when buying if you have a 5th gen. Nano. Should work great for a 4th gen. with no problem. A good value and well built.
This is my second purchase of this iPod belt clip. To me it's one of the best ways of listening to your music while getting in a good run or workout in the gym. Plus the one I bought before lasted almost 7 months and I go to the gym 5 days a week with heavy use. You will not be disappointed with this purchase.
