So far I have printed 31- 8 X 10s - 4-11 X 17s & 3 11X 14s with very good results. The set up of the printer was EZ. The print speed is great. The colors are right on. I don't understand some of the negative reviews of the Artisan 1430. So far I have only used the inks that came with the printer so I can't tell how much it will use. I have only had the printer for three weeks but so far I love it. I used my last Epson printer for about 8 years printing 1000's of prints I hope i will do the same with the 1430.
Decent printer over all. We bought this printer to match the other three that we own. My printer was the last to be switched over. The" bad" because that is what I look for when I read reviews of items I am thinking about buying. 1.The print speed seems to be a bit slower than my old printer. 2. it seems to go through a lot of magenta ink compared to the other cartridges. 3. I would like to see a larger black ink cartridge since I print a lot of spread sheets. The "good". 1. The print and pictures are very clear and are smudge free. 2. the set up was very easy. 3. Over all it is a printer and it get the job done as well if not better than a lot of printers I have owned. 4. Most importantly... I would suggest this to a friend.
I have used this printer for 3 months and it has functioned without issue for the uses I need. My main need has been in large 13"x19" prints and making labels on CD's/DVD's. To a lesser extent printing 8 1/2"x 11". My large prints have been very good with saturated color and fine definition but my greatest surprise has been in printing labels on DVD's. Previously I had used "Lightscribe" and these labels in full color are far superior and yet much faster to print. As with most printers that specialize in photo work, ink usage is nothing to write home about but that is to be expected. Overall I am very happy with this purchase and can recommend it.
I am highly familiar with Epson printers. I recently decided to start doing prints again for a portfolio. Out of the box, pretty straightforward including a full set of tanks. Wi-Fi was easy via the software included with the printer. I shoot a 3:2 aspect ratio and print 4x6, 8x12 (9x13 paper), 12x18 (13x19 paper) prints. I use professional photo high grade paper versus consumer store photo paper. I use Lightroom as my print source. The printer features control (Epson software) are easy to use with specific settings for output (such as 2880 x 1440 dpi). Some ICC profiles are a little tricky to use as output did not match monitor calibration. However, a second print using Epson print control proved exceptional output. A 13 x 19 print yielding a 12 x 18 print with a 1/4 inch matt border takes about a half hour per print. Ink flow is vastly improved over the R300 from years ago yielding more prints per tank set. Overall, I love the printer! Metallic prints are exceptional!
