This is a 5-foot HDMI to VGA/ 3 RCA cable. Connect your HD devices to an analog TV with this cable.

With this handy cable, you can connect to play video or pictures on your computer and display the image on your analog television. The five-foot length makes it more convenient for you to plug your HD devices into your television. The cable has a high signal transfer rate between the two devices and protects against RF and EM interference.

  • Best contact between HDMI and RCA equipments
  • High signal transfer rate
  • Protects against RF and EM interference
  • Color: Black
  • Length: 5-foot
  • Connectors: 1 x VGA HDDB15 15-pin/ 1 x HDMI/ 3 x RCA
  • Please note: HDMI to RCA cable is designed to connect and transfer signals from HDMI port to RCA port. This cable functions as a signal transmitter, but NOT a signal converter. As HDMI carries digital signals while RCA carries analog signals. In order for these two formats of signal to communicate with each other, both input and output devices needs to support the signal conversion function (code and decode), please kindly check with your user manual. If both input / output device do not support signal conversion, a signal conversion box is required
  • Please note: cable might not work by just connecting PC with TV. Your video output device must support both analog and digital signal conversion and output function. Please consult with your video output device's user manual for more information

Questions & Answers

  • Q:

"Does this product work at all?"

    • A:

Not for me. I used it with a working HDMI to DVI adapter to resemble a working VGA to DVI cable I already have. It didn't work as intended and it didn't work with an adapter. So, no. Stay away from these cables. If anybody makes it work please post here with information regarding any devices, adapters, cables and software that they have used. Once again, every other part I have works and VGA to DVI is possible with my monitor and laptop.

    • A:

I have two cable and tested them both. No, the second one does not work.

  • Q:

"Does this product work as it was noted above and in the description?"

    • A:

No. In fact, it would take a creative mind to get it to work at all. If ever.

  • Q:

"Ps4 or Blu Ray device compatible?"

    • A:

The ps4 has an HDCP signal (encrypted HDMI with audio). HDMI is a digital signal. The theory behind how the cable above works is that the device you connect it to is supposed to convert the digital signal to analog so that it can be used by your monitor or television. This only works if the device (Laptop) converts the signal. So, no. This adapter cable will not work with the PS4. For that you would need a converter (search hdmi to vga with audio converter). It should work with a laptop (depending on which one) that has an hdmi out. If the laptop has a Blu Ray drive then you may be able to play Blu Ray videos on your laptop. Blu Ray players probably do not recognize analog televisions or monitors. They usually do not have the video adapters built into them so they most likely will not work with this product. summary - will it work with: Laptop - probably with HDMI output and a working video adapter. Desktop - probably with a graphics card that has HDMI output and a working video adapter. ps4 - No (adapter or converter not recommended by sony) ----HDMI to (VGA DVI or Composite) with audio converter may work with monitor (Sony does not recommend) Blu Ray player - probably not ----If your laptop has Blu Ray it may work.

    • A:

Thank you for the question. It will if your dvd supports both analog and digital signal conversion and output function.

  • Q:

"would if i want to just plug the vga in my laptop and the three RCA cable in my tv can i do it that way?"

    • A:

Please note: cable might not work by just connecting PC with TV. Your video output device must support both analog and digital signal conversion and output function. Please consult with your video output device's user manual for more information

  • Q:

"I have an HDMI out adaptor for my iPad which works great on my digital TV, will this work with no problems to an analog TV?"

    • A:

Yes, this cable will be able to connect your HD devices to an analog TV.

  • Q:

"If I'm using this to connect laptop to tv, if I connected RCA to tv, would I connect BOTH VGA and HDMI to laptop. And do I need any extra cable for sound, or is it covered with the RCA?"

    • A:

The cable has stereo RCA outputs, so you will not need an extra cable.

  • Q:

"I bought this cord to use for my playstation 3. It does not come on any television I use. Is this cord compatible for a playstation 3?"

    • A:

This should be compatible with the PS3.

    • A:

No. PS3 is HDCP. High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection. HDCP = (encrypted HDMI+audio). You can use a converter. Converters separate out the audio and then provide an acceptable video output. The converter must be able to decode then separate out the audio in order to work. Try searching for: HDMI to VGA with audio converter, HDMI to DVI with audio converter, HDMI to composite converter (Not cable, and still sometimes they don't work). Note that, an adapter or cable that does not convert and separate the signal WILL NOT WORK. Sony recommends that you do not use converters because they cannot guarantee that they will work. Also, the ps3 and ps4 have video and audio settings. If you are having trouble getting the video to work then try: hooking the ps3 up with a working connection and then changing the audio and then the video settings to fit the desired output audio and resolution.

  • Q:

"Would this work if i use the RCA to connect my directv receiver box to the hdmi plug in my tv?"

    • A:

So long as it has a VGA connector, it would work.

    • A:

No ... Oh, no. You need an upverter from RCA to HDMI. RCA can mean one of two things. RCA 3 output component video or composite. Assuming that the output is composite (s-video, the single Yellow RCA) and you want super low resolution on your super high definition TV then look at the following................. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/agptek-cvbs-r-l-rca-video-audio-to-hdmi-1080p-signal-converter-adapter-switch-box-black/1307194386.p?id=mp1307194386&skuId=1307194386&st=composite%20to%20hdmi%20upverter&cp=1&lp=2#tab=buyingOptions ............... If you just can't stand having the low resolution as a matter of principal then find a television provider that allows for HDMI output or you can purchase the following but remember that this scaler will split pixels and not provide more of them. It uses the high resolution setting of your television but the color gamut is the same as component (no detail is added)................. http://www.overstock.com/Electronics/Gefen-Composite-to-HDMI-Scaler/3703256/product.html

  • Q:

"f I use the cable to link a HD DVD player to a VGA LCD monitor, can I get 1080p image on the monitor ? thanks!"

    • A:

If both of your items that you are hooking up can provide the 1080 P image, then you should be able to get that resolution using this cord.

    • A:

If your HD DVD is not HDCP and can convert to analog, your monitor will still have to be able to accept the resolution through the VGA. Check your HD DVD player. Is it HDCP? Can it convert to analog? Check your monitor. Does it allow resolutions of 1920x1080? Monitors are typically progressively scanned. That is the p in 1080p. So, maybe but probably not. Any problem you could have would be a) DVD player has HDCP b) DVD player does not allow conversion of digital to analog c) The monitor resolution cannot be set to 1920x1080 through VGA. Otherwise, yes. While I have not yet tested this particular cable, I assume it works like an adapter. It changes the fitting from one to the other but the signal itself must still be converted. Either by your computer with the right video adapter (software) or another external signal converter. So a computer that is able to convert digital to analog signals may make use of this cable. It is not meant to convert. Read the product description.

  • Q:

"Can I use this to go between my phone and my car head unit with a screen? I would use an MHL adapter to go from microUSB to HDMI out from the phone, and the stereo has RCA inputs."

    • A:

No. It is not compatible for phone to car units. If you can get the adaptors to coincide with each other it might work.

  • Q:

"would this cable give me sound as well?? I need to know. I see that i was the red and white but i need to make sure??"
