I chose my first Panasonic because that's what they used in the insurance office where I worked and it was great. That first one was used in my office at home for 17-18 yrs. and it performed great for me. It finally began to fail so I retired it with dignity after so many years of faithful service. My newest fax is a Panasonic KX-FP215 and it looks and functions very closely to my first fax machine except this one is smaller and far lighter so it is easier to move around and takes up less space. My other one was black and this is a very light cream color which I like better. I would absolutely buy a third one & would recommend this one.
I have the exact same model of printing calculator at work, so I'm very comfortable with its operation. Not the kind your kids would want to use for math class in school -- but for financial calculations for business, home office or tax time, it's a great little workhorse. The keys are spaced far enough apart that there's no danger of accidentally hitting the wrong key, and the paper tape makes it easier to catch mistakes. (That reminds me -- I need to change the ink roller on my office calculator; a paper tape doesn't help if the numbers are too faint to read!)
This has been a good product for my home/office use. I still work in a business that does a fair amount of business by fax and this machine has worked very well for my use. I receive several 2-3 page faxed orders per week and it works fine for that. It is not the handiest machine for large volume faxes to send out, but it isn't billed as a commercial office machine. Overall for the price, I'd say it's a good value. If you are still doing large volume faxing, then I would spend the additional money to purchase or lease a high end machine.
