The EyeFi card is very easy to set up and use. It can be configured to automatically connect to a list of secured networks, so you can set it up with your home, office, studio, cell phone, etc and it will try to connect to them all. It also has an option to auto-connect to all "open" networks, which it did just fine when I stopped by ***. There are many options such as retention of the images in the local memory on a FIFO basis, and the company offers a great feature of relaying the images to your main PC over the internet, so if you are out on a public wifi, when you get back to your home or office, the images will already be there! The interface is very easy to use, and it seems they put a lot of effort into the user experience design. Functionally in my canon 5D3 camera, it is equally easy to use. Just turn it on in the menu, and poof, away it goes. It only turns itself on when there is a new picture to send, and shuts off shortly after so it doesn't run battery all the time. All in all, I love how easy it was to set up, and the feature list is great. I'm very happy and may start putting these things in all my cameras and devices that can handle SD cards. The only thing I would like to see is a "Receive" mode so that you can push files TO the card. 4 stars because they need to get up to more storage like 64GB, and add the receive feature. Otherwise it's all good!

  • Works almost as I imagined

Works, though could use much more seamless interface with regards to having to manually connect every time I want to receive an image. Have software bundled like shuttersnitch, or buy shuttersnitch and simplify or ease the pairing process and I think you'd have a lot more happy customers. The tech is great, though most people would not be willing to go through the hassle to get it up and going. The world needs easily, explicitly, and immediately actionable items if we want to really integrate 'seamless' technology into their lives. Simple designs for the simple minds.

  • Works, but....
    Verified Purchase

The instructions are a bit confusing, but a call to the help desk resulted in a conversation with someone from this country who was intelligent and very helpful. Solved the setup confusion perfectly. Word of caution! Part of the reason I purchased this was for the GeoTagging feature. It only works when it can see 3 (THREE) WIFI NETWORKS!!! Where are you going to take pictures there this card can see three wifi networks? Certainly not in some picturesque location! Maybe in a few locations in NYC! This is very misleading by the manufacture. I thought it could read the location from my iPhone and geo tag from that...would really make sense since it can save to it! This is a major flaw in the product design.

  • Wish I got this sooner...

This thing is one of the best tech purchases I've ever made. I have a Canon G12 and it takes 1 to 2 seconds to transfer the highest jpeg images. And it also transfers the very large high-def videos at about 1 second per 5-7 megabytes. I also download Serviio DLNA Server for free, share the folder the photos and videos go into (refresh rate of 1 minute), and any DLNA player (I'm happy with the 8player app) can view both photos and videos. They can also be downloaded and shared from the phone -- so I can take high quality photos with a real camera and share them with my phone instantly. Awesome!

  • This is GREAT! Very user friendly!

I bought this to give to my dad (who is leery of technology). It was a breeze to set up, and it had even more functions than I was aware of!! I want one for myself!! Great integration with iPhone and iPad. Highly highly recommend this to anyone who finds it interesting!

  • Woo! I love not needing a cord to transfer images.

Initial setup is easy enough. I gave this a 4 primarily because there are some glitches with the software and the automatic turn-off features of the camera that I use it with that makes the automatic uploading process somewhat cumbersome. I still need to figure out how to set up a few more wi-fi spots so that I can do the upload on networks other than my home one, but that's part of the learning curve. Both the video and still images upload well. Video, because of file size, takes a long, long time.
