I was adding USB capability to an old Compaq running Windows NT4. Worked for my application. Was pretty difficult to insert. Not sure if its the card or the slot.
Highpoint product support is a joke! It takes on between 12 and 24 hours to get a response from them. I updated my problem case Friday morning and it wasn't till Monday at 10am that I got a response. At 10am I was at work and couldn't do anything till I got home!. As for the raid card itself, it need the dirvers/firmware to mature a lot more. The drivers that came on the CD would cause windows server 2008 to lockup when a drive failed. There are also some compatibility problems. My samsung spinpoint 2F does not work with this raid card and Highpoint support told me to update the firmware on the hard drive! There is no firmware update to apply to the drive, shouldn't they know that? since Seagate bought the HDD business from Samsung it will be almost impossible to get support for the Samsung HDDs. My Samsung drive works fine in every other computer I have so I blame Highpoint for this one.
