Several publications have listed this brand and model as a best buy for a WiFi radio. I had a more expensive unit previously and it was not near as nice as this one. In fact, I had a tech out to my house to do some other work, and he was so impressed with this unit that he took down the specs so that his wife could buy him one for Christmas. So easy to set up.
While not perfect, I love this radio. Being able to access tens of thousands of radio stations with just a WiFi connection and no extra fees is great. The clarity is great and without all the static and hit and miss connections you get with any traditional radio. The various alarm options and ease of setup are also great. Of course, you can do the same with a tablet or cell phone but I like having the clock radio and not having to rely on a cell phone plan. As for the "not so great" my biggest complaint is not being able to listen to the radio in "clock mode". You must listen in "radio mode" that shows the time in something like a size 6 or 8 font without showing anything of interest about the radio station other than the station number (also in size 6 or 8 font). 6 to 8 font is just too small for these old eyes. I have another clock only device in my bedroom so I can see the time while listening to the radio (shame on you Grace!). Another complaint is the probably to be expected loss of occasional WiFi signal. For reasons I do not understand the clock always functions and shows the exactly correct time automatically regardless of the WiFi signal. But the radio turns silent occasionally and requires that I reboot the radio by unplugging, plugging back in, and waiting 3 to 5 minutes for the radio to reconnect. My final complaint is that the "back" button works for every screen shot except for radio channels. It seems to me that the back button would be most useful to go back and forth between two radio stations to avoid commercials. But you can push two buttons to go back and forth between stations so this may be nitpicking - but in the dark it can be hard to find the buttons (I have not yet set up the remote that might help with this). That's it, on balance a great radio and one I strongly recommend to anyone wanting a great clock radio. In fact, I bought one for each of my two sons for Xmas although I suspect they are likely to stick with their Cell Phones (but I had to get them something - right?).
