I found this laptop while looking for a replacement for my 5 1/2-year-old HP Pavilion 17". I was looking for a machine with a monitor the same size as my old one and as much HD capacity as possible, so the combination of a 17" screen and 2TB hard drive (which very few laptops have) was pretty much irresistible. The seller shipped the computer very quickly and I received it within 48 hours of placing the order. It was billed as "refurbished", but it looked pretty much brand-new when I got it. It did require Windows updates to bring it up to date, but that posed no great difficulty. It's actually lighter than my old laptop, which is a definite plus when carrying it in a backpack. I also appreciated the USB 3.0 port which enables me to move data back and forth much faster between the computer and my USB 3.0 devices (external HD and flash drive). It's not the absolute newest, all-the-bells-and-whistles laptop, but for moderate use when I can't get to my desktop and need something with more oomph than my tablet (especially when I want to play a proper PC game or run a DVD movie), this does everything asked of it.
I got my laptop in the mail last night, only waited 2 days which is awesome. it was packaged very well and wasn't damaged at all. set up was super easy. windows 10 is pretty lame, but I knew that going in, so it's neither the computer nor the seller's fault. the only issue that I have is with the actual computer itself and that is the button on the trackpad. the left button doesn't work whatsoever. I checked the settings and everything that could possibly be the issue, but it's just busted. it does have a webcam, which I have covered up when not in use because I don't need my assigned government agent watching me at all times (joking, kind of). it does not have a keypad, so that's taking some getting used to, but i'll survive. I bought this computer because I needed a laptop for college and this will work perfectly. it's also super cheap, so buy it if you're looking for something for school.
I have only had this laptop for about a month, but so far, it has been great. It is not dainty by any stretch of the imagination. It is actually huge for a 15.6 laptop, both in terms of length, width, and depth. It is also heavy. The charger is big too...and heavy. It is not particularly pretty, at best we can say it has classic good looks. so why did I give it 5 stars? Because I don't care about any of that. This is my desktop replacement and it is perfect in that capacity. It is very fast, feels solid, has 4 USB ports including 2 3.0 ports which is great considering I have a 1 TB external drive plugged in to it. I plug in an external mouse, keyboard, 24" monitor and printer. The external video port (forgot the name of it) is a great alternative to VGA. I bought a cord that goes from that to HDMI for my monitor. Also, with the size you get a full size keyboard, a DVD writer, and all the ports you could ask for. Lastly, it came with Windows 7 Pro instead of Windows 10 which is an annoying disaster of an O/S in my opinion. About the same time this arrived, my wife received a replacement laptop from her company which was also an Lenovo. It was one of the dainty, convertibles with touch screen and light. I mean polar opposite of this laptop. So if that is your thing, you have options, but you will be giving up performance as well as other key items. After using a computer with 16gb RAM, I will never go back.
