I purchased this product to protect my office computers in the event of a power outage. Thankfully I have not had an power issues, however if I did I have complete Peace of Mind that my Tripp-Lite will work without any issues. It was very easy to setup and is so quite that you never even are aware that it is running and keeping my technology and work safe!
Aside from it's function as a battery backup system, the line monitoring display is quite helpful. I was shocked on how dirty my line voltage is; the surge protection is a must for my system.
I have purchased multiple similar UPS units over the last 20 years or so. They seem to last 2 or 3 years or so at best. Usually after I replace the batteries in the 1-2 year time frame, the electronics fail within a year or so of battery replacement. My last device failed about 5 years ago and I held off replacing it waiting (and hoping) for a new, improved technology that would have more features and last longer. After installing this UPS I realized that it has the same "look and feel" as the older units, but I was encouraged to find that there was software available at no charge from Tripplite that provided monitoring and control capabilities. After installation my enthusiasm tanked; the software is buggy and confusing and the support information on their web site is very limited. I configured the software so that it would shut down the server when the remaining UPS capacity was down to 50% after a power failure. I then tested the configuration and found that even when the remaining power was reduced to 40%, it still did not shut down the server despite having the USB cable connected between the UPS and the server. When I have time, I'll go back and work on this issue again, but I expected the basic functionally to be very 'plug 'n play'.
