I like this lens, I wanted something with a little more zoom than my kit lens, 18-55.I have read a number of reviews online about this lens, and this is what I found. The cons: loose lens barrell (slips when carried, or shooting up) This does not happen to me. Soft photos @ f5/6 (I have not noticed that) Dirt gets into the lens (I have a UV filter on my lens) For me personally, this is a good lens. I shoot in RAW, so I post process in RAW, if the photo happens to come out a little soft, no problem, it is corrected. If my barrel does begin to slip, the problem can be corrected with photographers tape around the barrel, to stop the slip. Each time after use (at the end of the day), I clean my lens. After reading the cons, I purchased the lens, and I'm glad that I did. I always protect my lens with filters, they are a lot cheaper than lens.Overstock had a great price, I actually ran across this lens for $600 + dollars! Shipped really fast.
