someone recommend the optical cables so i made the purchase and it was worth it. connected from my smart TV to my surround sound receiver works great. Should have brought two of them!
For those of you that don't know - VGA, video - graphics - accelerator is video ONLY. I have one but figured out the video part works fine. For older computers you need a 3.5mm Male jack converted to rca jacks for audio. This 3.5mm Male jack plugs into your speaker output on your computer to your input jack on your T.V. This layout has worked great for me. Why they put A/V/ jacks on a VGA is confusing to me considering VGA is video only. Maybe with newer computers this is possible but I'm not going to spend $600.00 or more on a new computer to find out. I hope this helps those in need.
For the price these audio cables work fine. They only last for 6 months or so before you will have to replace it. I buy these audio cables often but have the same issue. The audio connection will start to drop.
