I have a USGI ECWCS parka that I unknowingly purchased with a broken zipper. The parka has a two-way zipper and the lower half was broken. First the good; the Zlideon number 8 was a perfect replacement for the existing zipper. I simply removed the broken slide and installed the Zlideon upside down. In other words, the wider part of the zipper pull is facing downward instead of up. Now for the bad; the zipper pull does not hang down like a regular pull -- it kind of sticks out when the slide is installed upside down. That's because the zipper pull is also the mechanism that opens the Zlideon so you can install it onto the zipper. I can see the Zlideon coming apart if the pull catches on something. I'm probably going to remove the pull if I can find a suitable replacement for the pull, but be aware that if the pull is removed, you no longer have the ability to open the Zlideon.
Bought this because my golf bag had a mizzing zipper but the nylon zipper was still intact. all i had to do was slide this pull on and crimp it down a bit and it worked like new.
Yes, these do work, but a couple were so large that they did not fit with the jacket that needed a new pull. One of the large big pulls did work on one of my husband's jackets. The color was black and we matched it with a dark navy winter jacket. We'll see how sturdy it is when it gets to be winter in Dallas.
