"Hi....I make my own card envelopes & love to embellish them as well as adding some of the same embellishments to the card. Now, I assume that if it cuts card stock that it would also cut "wallpaper"? This would be my first purchase of this machine & just want to make sure it'll help me out. Seems like the Blue Teal Big Shot is the one I'm aiming for since it comes with the extended platform."

Sizzix Big Shot
I have most of the die cutting machines; my oldest being the Wizard. My friends have Sizzix Big Shot machines which have been going and going and going. One said if her's were a car it would have 150,000 milrd on it. BUT here is my tale of woe: My Big Shot seized up two weeks ago for no apparent reason. I called the company in CA and the rep. said it was the crank shaft and she could send me one for $5 with instructions. GREAT! But wait. My husband and our friend the handyman installed the new crank shaft without any directions or any problem. It is still frozen and the handle will not move because the ball bearing are rusted! I have not called the company yet, but will to ask if I can get the whole insides replaced. I did nothing to the Sizzix Big Shot that would cause it to rust and it is not THAT old. The plates hardly show signs of use. The fix-it men told me....and I see it as they left the machine apart....that the one roller has a design on it. That too is a mystery. Other Big Shots keep going and going, but mine must have been stored in a damp place before purchase. I would recommend to a friend as this is still the easiest machine to use if you get a "good" one.

Big Shot Die cutting machine
I bought this manual machine after my (very expensive) vagabond broke (while using a sizzlit). Excellent price on Overstock lowest price Big Shot. I have lots of spellbinders dies and use them on this machine, it cuts them beautifully. nice thing with a manual machine, I can adjust the sandwich because I can feel on the crank how the machine will take it. (not so with the vagabond, until it is too late!!). I also have an eBosser (an electric die cut) that I use for wider cuts (more than 6"). Love both machines. I use the Big Shot several times a week, sits on my craft table. It's a nice size, but you need room for the platform to clear when it is open. The multipurpose platform is extended (open) when you emboss, and needs room to pass thru when using the machine. It's not as complicated as this sounds. If you love beautiful intricate die cuts as I do, this machine will do the best job for you. I find it to be reliable, easy, relatively inexpensive, and has not disappointed me (unlike the vagabond).

Sizzix Big Shot
I am enjoying the Big Shot very much. Can't believe it took me so long to decide to invest in it. It is an investment for me as I live on Social Security, so I have to weigh a lot of factors into making such a purchase. Overstock enables me to have some of the tools for my hobby. I enjoy the ease of shopping on line with Overstock, I have been using dies that have not given great results before that I am now using.

Big Shot Die Cut Machine
Overstock had the best price anywhere. This machine is great for cutting many shapes that are must not easy to find on the Cricut which I also own. Works great with Spellbinder's dies, Tim Holtz, Sizzix etc.

Depending on what type of dies you are using you can cut chipboard, cork and even metal with the Big Shot. I have cut adhesive cork with the wafer dies so I think they would work with wallpaper too
