W&W is my favorite "go to" quilt batting. All natural fibers so it breathes and is comfortable to sleep under. A little stiff at first but softens up nicely after the quilt is washed a time or two. This batting is very smooth and even throughout--no thin or thick spots. Easy to quilt though---but I machine stitch my quilts so can't vouch for hand quilters. Will shrink some as all cotton does, so if you don't like the crinkly look of your quilt after washing, be sure to preWash your batting before quilting with it. I just put the batting in the washing machine with hot water, lowest agitation cycle, spin dry, then dry in a hot dryer. This will preshrink the batting before you use it. great white color, safe to use behind quilts with lots of white fabrics unlike Warm&Natural that is a cream color and shows through white fabrics. Have used W&W for years!!
It sews like a dream. I'm a pretty new fiber artist and quilter and this machine is just the right size, it's light, but it handles every kind of quilt sandwich. It's a beauty to learn on. I can see it will accommodate future projects with ease!
I love that the mat actually is three pieces that fit together with clamps. This makes it very easy for storage or when I don't need the full 70" length. I was worried that my rotary cutter might not cut cleanly at the seams in the mats but this has not been a problem. I use the mats for cutting out fiber art pieces and garment pattern pieces. It did have a chemical smell at first but this went away. Very happy with my purchase.
