Brother Makes a great machine. I was happy with the first machine and used it for years, so I purchased a new machine that to me is a number of machines in one, It will embroider, do quilting, do cross stitching, and then its a regular sewing machine. I has great extra features for ease of use-simple needle threader, auto bobbin winder, it also has a built-in thread breakage detector. It comes with a few text fonts, and embroidery images, built in. It is fair to say it is easy to use. Only thing that I would say that I couldn't find in the manual is don't think the size of the hoop is bigger then 4x4, it will not accept the image file transfer if it is, even if you measure the hoop like I did (5X7 hoop) It was made for you to address the placement of your 4x4 image.
I original purchased my first LB 6000 because I wanted an embroidery machine. I loved it and it sewed very will; but the size of the embroidery piece was limited. I sold that machine and bought a Quattro, another great machine but heavy. I like going to open sews and on quilting retreats. The Quattro's weight is an issue. My husband was carrying the machine up and down the stairs and I was hauling it into the stores. I always regretted selling the LB 6000 and recently purchased another. The embroidery is great throu limited, it sews beautifully, Jim is no longer carrying it up and down stairs, and I have no problems getting it into where I will be sewing. It there is one draw back, Brother needs to offer and extended work platform. A great buy at a great price.
I haven't sewn in years and this was the perfect machine for me. I use it for sewing and am about to start quilting. The machine is so easy to use and the manual is very helpful.
This machine is great to take to sewing or quilting classes. It is light weight, making it easy to tote to classes. It is easy to set the machine for whatever type of sewing you are going to do. Today I took it to a ruler/template/quilting class for home machines. I was able to complete all the 6 template designs just as well as the big expensive machines. I leave my Quattro3 at home as it is too heavy for me to cart it around to different classes.
