My Singer serger died after a very useful long life. I used to sew clothes and bridal dresses for the public. I only sew for my family and friends now. I have mainly used my serger for this only, especially with the fabric that frays so badly today. I have just started using it for some quilting projects recently. Since I do not use it all the time, I checked the reviews and price that would fit my needs. I also saw the serger on It's Sew Easy TV program. It meets my needs, and I threaded it the first time. YEAAAA! That was always the hardest for me.
I have been sewing on a little Singer that was my high school graduation present from my parents. I have put a lot of miles on it, but wanted something that would do sewing and embriodery. My sister has this same machine, and I had used hers to do a couple of projects, and loved it. There is still so much that I need to learn about it, but it has already made a jean skirt, four monogrammed pillow cases, and an Ohio Star scrap quilt top. Love it.
This is my first ever embroidery machine. I've been sewing since the age of 13 and am now 60. I sew more quilts than anything else and wanted to add some embellishments so I decided to go with this very reasonably prices machine. I purchased this 5-6 years ago and still love working with it. It gets the job done without having spent thousands of dollars. Great Value.
