Perfect for my projects, works well with both hot and cold. Washes and dries with no problems yet. So far it is pretty durable. Can't beat the price. I will buy this again I am sure.

I use a double layer to make kitchen pot holders. It's pricey, but Overstock has the cheapest price I could find for a full bolt. Works well.

    Questions & Answers

    • Q:

"Why did you choose this product?"

      • A:

        To make insulated Roman shades.

    • Q:

"What is the difference between insul-fleece and insul-bright?"

      • A:

Hello njctmmb, per my research, these are two very similar products. Both products are used for heat-resistance, and both seem to employ the same needle-punched polyester material, coupled with a reflective layer of material. I hope this information is helpful. Thank you for shopping with us!

    • Q:

"Can this be used in making oven mitts? What about washing?"

      • A:

Thank you for contacting us koobear01. If the Insul-Fleece will come in contact with any objects over 400 degrees, we recommend that you place a layer or two of cotton batting between the Insul-Fleece and the fabric. This will help prevent the polyester in the Insul-Fleece from melting. The finished project can be washed and dried. If you need additional information, please let me know.

    • Q:

"Can this product be used to make curtains to keep out the cold? And will it show mylar one side and fleece on the other?"

      • A:

Hi mcsparky, this fabric would work great to keep out the cold, please keep in mind that due to the makeup of the fabric it may not hang like other curtains. Also the mylar side is fairly shiney and the batting is more dull so they are easy to determine which side is which. I hope this helps, thanks for shopping with us.

    • Q:

"making Microwave potato bags can this be used in the Microwave?"

      • A:

Hi fergusonbjc, This Fleece should not be used in a microwave as the metalized Mylar could spark, causing a fire. Thanks for shopping with us.
