Actually, constructing a modified Vogue pattern for a formal jumpsuit, it called for 1/2" shoulder pads. Rarely, with current styles do we need them, however, after constructing a muslin mock up. I realized that indeed, the style and sleeve really did call out for some structure of padding to form the architecture of the garment. I found 1/4" in local store and 1/2", but what I thought would be a perfect compromise was this 3/8". Found on Overstock - who knew? It's amazing the array of sewing items you can find on this site, with great prices. Love it!
I love Tear mender. My husband always seems to rip off one end of a belt loop on his jeans. Trying to sew the end back on to the denim is an exercise in futility. I use Tear Mender on it, let it set up over night and Wallah! good to go. His lastest pair of jeans that I fixed with this product has been washed and dried 4 times and loop still holding strong!
