Overall it keeps the needles in one place which is good, but one does have to rubber band them together as there are not a lot of elastics at the top to hold all my knitting needles.
This item was a little disappointing. Even though I checked the dimensions before I ordered it, I thought it would be appropriate for needlepoint wool and it really is only for embroidery floss--as it is labeled. If anyone has one like this for heavier yarn, I would love to know about it. It is well made and attractive.
Although advertised for using to follow needle work patterns, this item comes in handy anytime you need to track information. I purchased mine to help me keep my place on beading patterns. My daughter uses it to follow recipes in our very small kitchen. This folder opens out to make a small easel that takes up very little space. The outside of the folder is textured, red, faux leather that easily wipes clean. My only concern is the poor quality of material covering the surface you attach the instructions & magnets to. My daughter says we can replace it with contact paper or other fabric when it gets worn .
