Finally a sewing machine that i don't want to chuck across the room! I got it at a good price too! I seldom sew, but when I do I just want the machine to work correctly, and this one does.

So far this is a great Janome sewing machine as I have just had it for 2 days now .the instruction booklet is very easy to follow. The machine is very easy to operate no problem adjusting the desired stitches. And it come with a dust cover. I will be getting a rolling trolley soon for it

  • Nice machine

I have used this to alter a shirt and hem some jeans. It has enough power to manage heavy fabrics smoothly. Making button holes with the attachment is easy, but buttonholes come out just okay. I experimented on scraps with the decorative stitches and they work well. Overall a good basic machine.

I had 3 bad singers before this (the 4423) which were terrible, this is a great entry level machine works just like its supposed to. Shipped straight from Janome. I will never get another singer again I ❤️ My janome! I wish they had a customer service line tho because there's no one to even ask a question without bringing it into a repair shop.

  • Excellent machine!

I have had this sewing machine for over two years now, and it's been a reliable machine. I can sew whatever fabrics I want, and it hasn't given me any trouble. Even hemming thick jeans is no problem. I really love this sewing machine and would recommend it highly to others. My next sewing machine will be a Janome as well.

  • Great for the price

I am a weaver who does very little sewing. My friends who do sew a lot recommended this machine. The instruction book is excellent, easy for a novice to understand. It does a good job on my handwoven fabric and has more features then I will probably ever use.

  • Just what I wanted
    Verified Purchase

I could tell the moment I started sewing with it that it was a good machine. The sound and feel were tell-tale. I am making lined draperies with my mother (a professional seamstress) and every time I used my old machine I hated sewing and ALWAYS had a problem so I knew I had to get a better machine. So far I have sewn light lining and heavier drapery fabric with absolutely no problem. I wanted a heavy duty machine to be able to go through jeans, which I haven't sewn yet, but I can just tell the machine will have no problem. Now I actually LOVE sewing and look forward to finishing the drapes and other projects. If I had more time I would be making things all the time. At least I know what I want to do after I retire! :)

  • terrific machine

The instructions are clear, bobbins load quickly and easily, the machine runs like a caddy, smooth, strong and quiet. I love it. Had a Singer previously and the tension could not be set correctly, resulting in birdnesting that even the experts could not address. This machine is a pleasure to work with, and I am on my way! Not to mention the fabulously low price for such quality.

  • Great Machine

I used this machine for an intro to sewing class (the sewing school had these machines exclusively) and it was great. Strong, smooth, quiet operation, and easy to use to boot! Great for a beginner/intermediate sewer.

  • Easy to use, inexpensive but sturdy
    Verified Purchase

I first used this model in a sewing class and once I found out the price, I had to have one. It's easy to use, has a lot of options for such an inexpensive sewing machine, and is great to learn on. At the same time, my instructor who has been sewing for several years says that even a highly skilled user would do well with this machine (and she doesn't work for the company/benefit from someone else purchasing this). If you're looking for an inexpensive but well-made machine, this is an excellent choice.
