I thought these little nippers would be super sharp and great help to me while completing machine applique, embroidery and quick snips on quilting....Nope. They just don't pack a punch. I am disappointed.

  • Nice embroidery AND applique scissors

I embroider and do hand-applique, and these scissors are very good. I keep them by my living room chair where I do my handwork.

  • great snippers

Whether these are sold as Acme or as Westcott, they are very good scissors. I have a pair in my sewing basket and a pair beside my sewing machine. When you clip threads, the curved blades can get close to the seam without catching the fabric, I've used mine almost daily for going on a year, and they are as sharp as the day I received them.

  • Ok but not what I expected
    Verified Purchase

These little scissors seem tough but they have a strange finish---sort of like a powder coat finish. They feel like they hang when you try to cut with them and don't feel very sharp. I have trouble cutting embroidery thread with them.
